My friend had a stent placed after mild heart attack, since then she has developed a dry hacking cough with constant tickle in her throat, she cannot sleep and last night slept about half an hour, she has been taken off most of her meds with not relief

Hello,
Since cardiac stenting is done under general anesthesia and tube is placed inside the mouth so it can cause irritation and cough. Take Cetirizine tablet and some soothing agent like honey and you will be fine in 2 or 3 days.
