What Causes Cough Along With Itching And Swelling In The Hands?

Cough very random, itching and some swelling hands, forearms, feet and calves. Came about 1 1/2 years ago much stronger, now has returned much milder, not as irritating. Should add prior itching even went into scalp, never on face. Appeared at times to have small blisters that would finally break. These areas were where rash seemed worse.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to allergic reactions as you have repeated attacks. Kindly consult with dermatologist and do patch test to find out source of allergy. Avoid that allergen exposure.

You can use emollients, steroid ointment or calamine lotion after consultation. For cough you can take tab. Montelukast. Do steam inhalation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
