Damaged cartilage under kneecap. Gout caused by the buildup of uric acid. Baker's cyst if you experience a buildup of synovial fluid (fluid that lubricates the joint) behind the knee. Miniscus tear or torn ligament, bone tumors, disclocation of the the kneecap most often the result of trauma.
