I'm currently 27 and began smoking cigarettes as well as wee at an early age weed 17, 18 for cigarettes. I feel an obstruction in my wind pipes and chest sometimes. I give a good push and I find myself expelling mucus with black specks. Sometimes it's not even all mucus it's just black stuff. To see if I was just hallucinating since then I've kept a spitoon I currently quit smoking cigarettes any idea what it is?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

You have bad smoking habit at very young age

In smoker patients yes chronic cough is common problem from chronic bronchitis

So I would suggest you to investigate your case with pulmonologoist for Bronchitis as follow....
-Auscultation
-Chest x ray
-Spirometry
-CBC

Spirometry will able to detect severity as well of COPD if present

You might given antibiotic course and ambroxol syrup if needed

Anyhow if interstitial fibrosis or bronchoconstriction present than steroid or bronchodilator inhaler given respectively

Take care

Try to stop smoking

Hope this will help
