Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history constipation, passing of hard, skinny, long or like tiny mouse droppings. Mother died of pancreatic cancer hence you are worried about colon cancer. This is called cancer-phobia. your problems may be constipation alone and nothing more unless proved otherwise. I would advise you the following: X-ray of the abdomen to see for fecolith impaction and so on. Oral laxatives, Rectal suppositories, rectal enema should help you. If this does not help then to go for a CT scan and colonoscopy to get a proper diagnosis and further management as required. Also get blood tests for thyroid and diabetes as both of these can cause the problems you have by a condition called Gastroparesis. Also identify the foods and beverages that cause constipation or hard stools and to stop them altogether.
