What Causes Constant Urge To Snort And Stiffness In Neck?

I ve had what feels exactly like a stiff neck for over 9 mos left rear, up side of neck to hair line. In addition constant urge to snort from either left or right rear of nasal - sort of like that gross snort from when your kid brother was going to hocker (sorry! only way I can describe it.) lol Anyway the snorting has gotten almost chronic with every breath I am urged to do it and there is always something firm, and significant to move down and swallow - although small. Can these two things be connected? My facial nostrils are always clear and I am not stuffy

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your unusual history of snorting from either of the nostril with feeling of something at the back of the nose and need to clear it.
Another significant history is of the pain in the neck as you have explained for 9 months.
I would advise you the following:
- First of all to get and ENT endoscopy done to decide whether either is any actual obstruction or so in the posterior nasal passage or the nasopharynx.
- This to be supplemented by an MRI Study.
This may give the diagnosis and may be need a surgical correction of the problems that you have.
Secondly the constant irritation can cause the muscles to go into spasm and cause the pain in the neck by hairline.
I would advise you to ask the ENT Surgeon who is attending you and get a referral for Orthopedic surgeon if required.
Take the proper treatment and you will be fine.
