What Causes Constant Nasal Congestion, Blood In Mucus And Loss Of Smell?
constant nasal congestion 24/7 loss of smell and blood in my mucus in the morning and sometimes during the day. It is painful and affects my daily routines. I do smoke and have allergies maybe this is the cause? I was prescribed a netipot which usally only helps for a few minutes before the congestion comes back. and have tried antihistamine pills still no effect what is the problem will i ever be able to cure this? i have an appointment with my ent again next week.
You should have mentioned your age too. This problem could be due to several things like allergy, smoking (it destroyes nasal cells), infections (rhinitis, sinusitis). I would like to advise you to try a course of antibiotics (macrolide group like erythromycin) along with antihistamines and decongestants. Also use saline nasal drops. Before you visit your ENT doctor, you can get it prescribed from general practitioner and take till then. You will see improvement. Inform about this to ent doctor. Avoid smoking. Your disease will go away completely, don't worry.
I hope this reply will benefit you. Please write to HCM for future queries. I wish you rapid recovery. Please hit a thanks. Thank you
