I have a nervous habit of scratching my face and arms with little scabs trying to heal. Have a lot of stress in my life but I have heard of condition which pertains to the above. Been doing it for a few months now. my email is YYYY@YYYY thank you.
Treatment would involve both counselling and anxiety medication to help reduce both the thought process (the obsessive thought) and the action (the compulsion to do it).
The medication may not be for the long term but till you are able to conquer this problem
It would be best to speak to your doctor, he or she can refer you to someone who would be able to help.
I hope this helps

What Causes Compulsive Skin Scratching?
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic Obsessive scratching or itching of the skin or scalp can be related to depression or obsessive disorder (OCD - obsessive compulsive disorder which is a type of anxiety disorder). Treatment would involve both counselling and anxiety medication to help reduce both the thought process (the obsessive thought) and the action (the compulsion to do it). The medication may not be for the long term but till you are able to conquer this problem It would be best to speak to your doctor, he or she can refer you to someone who would be able to help. I hope this helps
