What Causes Clitoris Swelling After Having Intercourse?

Hi, My clitoris is quite swollen after sex, it has been like this for two days now, although it has gone down a little bit, it is still very sensitive and a lot larger than my other half, also the skin around it on one side is also swollen and sensitive, is there anything that will help me with this? Like creams? I don t really want to rush to the doctors yet.

Hello,
Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. The most likely cause of the swelling, which I presume is not of the clitoris but of the labia from your description, is due to a rough intercourse causing trauma. To relieve the swelling, you have to rest the part, avoid any further intercourse and also douches. Application of an ice pack will help to reduce the swelling by decreasing the blood flow. Analgesics may be used to further reduce the inflammation. Hope this helps.
