What Causes Chronic Petechiae On The Lower Torso, Arms And Abdomen?

Hi, I have a very bad case of Petechiae and it is getting worse. It started about 2 years ago on my feet and forearms. I went to a dermatologist, who did blood work and said that everything was normal, not to worry about it. It continued to get worse so I went to an oncologist who did even more blood work but came back with the same answer. Now it is much worse and covers all of my lower body, arms, hands, and is spread to my abdomen. Is there such a thing as a Petechiae specialist that can help me stop the spread of this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I would suggest you check liver conditions and to visit a hepatologist. Sometimes impaired liver function causes petechiae. There is not a petechie specialist but you can visit a haematologist. You may need to test coagulation factors.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
