What Causes Chronic Pain In The Arms?

My husbands arms hurt very bad. He can t hardly use his hands, can t even make a fist. We have tried wrist braces, arm band. No pain medicines , over counter does nothing to relief the pain. I even gave him one of my prescription pain pills an he said it helped some. It has gotten so bad he may have to come home from work. He is a Mill Wright. We also tried ice an heat. He said the heat made them hurt worse.

Dear weather he is using any vibrating equipment for work?? Since when he is using?? At the area of work with hand arm vibration syndrome with cause nerve damage leads to pain and vibration, blood vascular damage cause raynauds phenomenon, muscular damage cause severe pain while holding an object. Hold tools as loosely as possible and in varying positions.Ensure that tools are well maintained. Use tools correctly and use the right tool for the job. The aim is not to need to use excessive grip, nor to use a tool for longer than necessary.Take regular breaks of at least 10 minutes away from the tool. Short bursts of work are better than long periods of work without a break.Keep warm while at work - especially your hands.You should not smoke - the chemicals in tobacco can affect blood flow . still symptoms not improved consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
