What Causes Chronic Pain In Elbow Post Injury From A Fall?

I fell about ten months ago, landed point-down on my elbow and left side. Waited two months, then went to a specialist. The x-rays showed no fracture. Diagnosis was the fat pad on the elbow was bruised. Not better after 4 more months so I got a second opinion. MRI showed tennis elbow, but I keep complaining about the pain on the underside and the inside of my elbow as well. I m pretty convinced that it s not all tennis elbow -- because I lived with that for 4 years in the other elbow (had to be surgically repaired). Before the fall, I had absolutely no issues with the elbow. It s in my non-dominant arm. Is it possible I have an undisclosed fracture; and would it be ridiculous to seek a third opinion from another doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, I really appreciate your concern. MRI of bone is highly sensitive diagnostic test for any small non-displaced fracture. So there is very low chances of any fracture in your elbow joint. I think diagnosis of the tennis elbow is correct and by third opinion there may not be any change in the diagnosis or management. You should manage it as for tennis elbow.
Ice application when there is pain, using elbow strap, use pain killer medicines when needed, physiotherapy and certain prescribed exercises would help you a lot.
Hope my answer has solved your query. Take Care.
Thank you.
