I am a 74 year old female. I have nightmares for several years. I have injured myself getting out of bed and collapsing hitting the night stand . Sometimes I just sit on my bed and scream for help. I take clonazepam to reduce the dreams. It seems to help. This morning I woke up at six but went ack a sleep. I had a dream and was screaming for help. eventually woke up I always feel very dizzy because I am sitting or standing. I live alone. I am divorced for 3 years.
Advice 1. Continue clonazepam 0.5 mg at bed time orally 2. Amitriptyline 10 mg at bed time orally for 30 days 3. Start workout in gym at least half an hour in a day for 5 days in a week 4. Stop alcohol, smoking and any kind of drug abuse 5. Do meditation 6. Involve yourself in work and productive activities 7. Try to contact with you family and do not live alone. Find a room partner 8. Share your problem with your family and close friends 9. Consult a psychiatrist for follow up and counseling
