What Causes Chronic Hip Pain With Abdominal Cramps And Bloating?

I have had extreme pain in my right hip for weeks now and it s up to about a 9 at night. Most days it goes away after walking a while. But now it s seems to stay and even hurt down my leg into my foot. And starting today I m getting what feels like stomach contractions, bloating and feeling full. Could it be a virus? I thought it was Bursitis but now with the tightening of my stomach I don t know what to think.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The pain in the hip is not likely linked to the abdominal discomfort and bloating since these body systems are not linked.

It is possible that the hip pain is related to injury the soft tissue or bones in the area. A common cause of hip pain is arthritis.

Bloating and abdominal pain can be due to (1) constipation,
(2) related to the use of gas producing foods- cabbage, beans, broccoli, cauliflower, turnips
(3)lactose intolerance
(4)reflux

Using reflux medication can help in some cases.

I hope this helps
