Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a fall 3 months ago where I fell backwards and my head hit a metal ladder. I was knocked unconscious for about 15 min. I was diagnosed with a concussion. I am experiencing severe headaches since the fall in the back of my head. They come and go and I can t seem to relate it to anything. It feels as though a stake is being pounded in the back, but the stake is about 1000 degrees, its is burning. It also affects my right eye. Do you have any idea what is going on? I am currently seeing a doctor who doesn t want to treat me since my employer has no workmans comp insurance and it happened on the job.
Thank you for your concern . Yes fall followed by headache is not good This an indication of head injury There are several types of head injurypure concusion with no visible radiological features SPace occupying lesion such as blood clot extra dural, sub dural, sub arachnoid or intra cerebral. All this will give you headache. Fracture of skull will also giveyou severe headache Investigation 1. Simple x Ray of the head willrule out fracture 2. CT. scan of the head will rule out Space occupying lesion and any injury to the brain It's better to consult a neurosurgeon for opinion after the above investigations.
