What Causes Chronic Headaches Despite Taking Motrin?

so about 6 days ago i was smoking meth and drinking a beer and decided to snort some meth. i had only smoked meth about 3 times years ago. i snorted quite a bit, afterwards i got a bad pounding in my head and started vomiting. i threw up for 2 hours straight and fell asleep. the next day i had some left over and didnt want to waste any so i licked a little bit but then remembered how bad the night before was so i threw it away. i felt fine that whole day, no headaches or anything. but then i started getting the comedown. depression, anxiety, shortness of breath, and chest/head pains. then after a few days i felt 100% better minus slight tenderness of my head. but then i started getting horrible headaches, and they ve been about 2 headaches a day the past 2 or 3 days. i feel better mentally and physically minus my headaches. its usually after going to the bathroom or after standing up or masturbating. theyre really bad headaches ive been taking Motrin. im just wondering why am i still getting these horrible headaches? i have NOT been doing any meth since then and never plan to , it was the worst experience ever. before that happened i would do cocaine a bit often, about twice a week, maybe 3 times a week for about 5 months. after this i havent touched any drugs not even cocaine because i just wanna ditch drugs, this experience taught me a lesson. i am 19 years old and i am around 220 pounds, and i am a female.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As per your clinical history, please follow like this:

1) Do a clinical examination by your Doctor [Neurologist], and to rule out other pathological disorders, do an MRI scan.

2) For a headache, you can discuss about Sumatriptan and Naproxen sodium, and for preventive measures, talk about Amitriptyline.

Do follow lifestyle modifications like this:

1) Try to avoid triggers. If certain foods or odors seem to have triggered your headaches in the past, avoid them. Try to avoid aged cheeses, salty foods, and processed foods and avoid fasting.

2) Try to reduce your caffeine and alcohol intake and avoid tobacco.

3) Try to establish a daily routine with regular sleep patterns and regular meals. In addition, try to control stress.

4) Do exercise regularly. Regular aerobic exercise reduces tension and can help prevent headaches. If your doctor agrees, choose any aerobic exercise you enjoy, including walking, swimming, and cycling.

5) Try to reduce the effects of estrogen. You may want to avoid or reduce the medicines you take that contain estrogen and these medicines include birth control pills and hormone replacement therapy. Talk with your doctor [Gynecologist] about the appropriate alternatives or dosages for you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
