What Causes Chronic Facial Acne While Treating High Cholesterol In The Elderly?

I am going to be 59 years old female, donated one of my kidneys 5 years ago, high cholesterol now, elevated calcium, lumen constrictions upon exertion, gastroparesis; why do I break out on my face like crazy and now I can literally fall asleep at work several times a day?

Hello,

You will need to do some tests to check why you have this tiredness and sleepiness. Basic metabolic profile (sugar levels, kidney function, liver function, etc), TSH (thyroid function), electrolytes, CBC, ERS, cortisone levels, testosterone blood level, are the most likely tests that are needed.
If the tests are normal, then you can get local treatment for acne (or rosacea, another condition that causes acne in the elderly). Azelaic acid or retinol can be tried to help with this.

I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. Let me know if I may assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
