General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Your symptoms could be due to viral or allergic bronchitis.
If it is not associated with fever, wheezing, shortness of breath, chest congestion then nothing to worry and take following advises for next 7 days.
-Take Cough syrup containing guaifenesin and dextromethorphan (Q tussin CF): 5-10 ml three times a day
-Drink plenty of lukewarm water
-Steam inhalation 3-4 times a day
-Strepsil throat lozenges (neem and honey flavor):take every 3 hourly
-Avoid cold beverages and exposure to pollutants

If the cough persists despite using the above medication then further workup would be required by consulting the pulmonologist.
Hope this may help you
Best regards

Try to identify if she is allergic to any thing or is it seasonal, it can be due to many reasons, if it is bothering her much visit your doctor to evaluate the cause, meanwhile hotwater gargling might help
