General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your diagnosed mitral value regurgitation followed by cough and halitosis I am suggesting that you have developed an oedema with your lungs due to left heart failure which has predilection in producing cough symptoms
In view of this please keep regular appointments with your cardiologist specialist for regular clinical assessment and for possible surgical interventional procedures regarding heart disorder
I hope this helps
