60 year old male in good health. Got a bad cough 6 weeks ago. Started as sore throat, within a day or 2 was in my lungs, coughing my lungs up. Got worse and worse, saw my doc, said my lungs sounded like a freight train, gave me a z pack. helped out some for the cough, took a trip to vacation condo, did some painting, but was getting worse in my throat. Had no voice, was wheezing, throat hurt. Runny nose. Feeling like crap, just rundown. 7 days after seeing my primary, I went to a doc in the box, she said my lungs were clear, throat looked like crap, gave me amoxicillin. Took that for 4 days, didn t really help, was still feeling like crap. Went to see my primary, this is now at 22 days, he put me on levofloxin, prednosone, albuteryl, and azelastine. Helped quite a bit, but still feeling run down and sick, but did get my voice mostly back, but still not feeling well. At day 30 I said I need to go back to him, but the next morning for the first time in a month, I didn t feel sickly. Now it is 2 weeks past that, my left ear hurts, so does my left gland , like there is a line attached, and feeling very lethargic and weak. Feeling bad again. Didn t think I have symptoms of ear infection. Thinking maybe mono? What do I have?
