What Causes Chronic Cough And Chest Pain?

I have a terrible dry cough and have been waking up every hour coughing. I woke up Saturday w/ pain in the center/left part of my upper chest - kind of hurts to my back. Could I have pulled a muscle coughing? Feels like a broken rib sort of, but there hasn t been any trauma

Hello,

No, usually broken rib and all are very rare. Maybe, muscle spasm is possible. Use Benadryl syrup for a dry cough. You can also use Levocetirizine tablet for 3 days.

If a cough subsides, your pain will also subside, and these medications will give you some relief. You will become better.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
