Hi,

The symptoms are highly suggestive of possible IBS as a diagnosis. You will need to test stool routine and culture, colonoscopy and ultrasound of the abdomen. If these are normal, you most likely suffer from IBS.

Meanwhile, I will suggest

1. Plenty of fluids.
2. High fibre diet.
3. Isapghulla husk at bedtime.
4. Yoga and meditation.
5. You may need a prescription for amitriptyline from your family doctor.

I have tried to make it as simple as possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
