What Causes Chronic And Irritating Cough?

I have a chronic cough and I am estimating its been with me for about 9 years. My latest medical treatment is symbicourt inhaler twice a day and lansoprazole capsule 30 mg once a day for the past two months with no relief. Someone other than a doctor stated they were taken BREO powder inhaler and there cough cleared up in a couple of months. Is this advisable for me to try. This cough is irritating and embarrising.

Hello. Read your query and noted the contents.

You are being treated for probable cough variant asthma /COPD and a presumptive diagnosis of GERD (gastro esophageal refulx disease). Since there is no relief with it you could take the BREO ELLIPTA inhaler which is a combination of fluticasone which is a steroid and vilanterol which is a bronchodilator. Do try this and see if you find any relief. A short course of montelukast will be helpful during times of exacerbations.

Please feel free to drop in any more queries if need be.
