What Causes Choking Sensation After Eating While Having Hiatal Hernia?

When I eat sometimes my food will get stuck or clogged about halfway down to my stomach. I understand that I have a hiatal hernia and this condition has been around for many years. It appears that some food is caught in there now and has been all day, and I cannot get it to shake loose. Anytime I eat or drink anything it comes right back up. Will it possibly pass through the night?

I really appreciate your concern, if this is the symptoms you have with confirmed history of hiatus hernia then it needs surgery, it may be the only option you have, second it could be GERD too and for that PPI can be taken on tentative basis hope this information helps.
