What Causes Chills And Vomiting In A Diabetic When Diagnosed With Walking Pneumonia?

my husband has walking pnemonia and after he had the chills, he vomits. Is this normal? he is diabetic and the dr put him on amoxicillan. He is dehydrated and not keeping much down. Is there anything I get give him for the dehydration. drinking water and a few smoothies (peach & banana) and diabetic protein drinks.

First try to get his blood sugar done that it is not too high or too low.
Try to get his urine checked for Ketone/Acetone as Diabetics with infection
may develop a condition like Diabetic Ketoacidosis (His urine will be
showing acetone in case)
If Urine Acetone is negative it can be gastritis associated with infection
and can be treated by omeprazole-Domperidone combination twice a day.
You can give him water, lime water,orange juice/apple juice,coconut water without added sugar for dehydration.
Diabetic protein drinks will not be a good liquid replacement for him.
