Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi my son will be 3 in September and he was born two months premature. He only started walking at the age of 2 and when he walks he drags his right foot and often falls when walking or running to fast. Should I consult a Podiatrist or a Developmental Pediatrician?
Hi, thanks for asking. In my opinion you should consult a developmental paediatrician, who will be able to assess the all round development of your child. Does he use his right hand less? It may be a monoplegia or part of hemiplegia due to the premature delivery. You will need a MRI for the exact diagnosis. The child will benefit with physiotherapy. I hope I have helped you Thank you.
