What Causes Chest Pain With A Normal ECG Report?

Earlier this week I had bad pains in my chest that became worse when what felt like electrical pulses coming through my left chest. I was admitted to hospital and had blood tests and ECG s with no negative results showing up. The ECG s had some slight irregularities but nothing to worry about according to the specialists. I had a stress test as well however this showed up nothing as well - so I was sent home .This doesn t seem right -what can I do next - I also currently have hypertension and IGA nephritis

Hi,
Chest pain can be because of many reasons, right from the superficial skin inflammation to muscular, bony cartilage, lung and it coverings, heart or even a gastric acidity can cause such a pain.
Each pain has a peculiar character. It would have been much helpful if you would elaborate about the type of pain you have.
Is it continuous through out the day?
Or does it occur only on coughing or deep breathing?
How would you best describe the pain, Stabbing type, Burning Type or a dull aching type?
Does it occur during exertion or during lying down?
Do you have frequent burping?
Any Cough?
Which all medications have you been taking? Does it include an Antacid?

Since ECG was within normal limits we can rule out a cardiac cause. Though a repeat ECG can be advised if chest pain is recurrent.
Chest X- Ray can be useful in ruling out many etiologies of chest pain.
Till then analgesics and anatacids shall be helpful.

Awaiting your response.
Any more queries are welcome.
Thank You,
Regards.
