What Causes Chest Pain While Taking Deep Breaths And Bruising On Upper Thigh?

Hi, I am a 54/F I had falling on some cement stairs 3 days ago, I have bruising to my upper thigh and knee but my concern is my upper right chest/side, it is painful when I breath in deep or move a certain way, even getting out of bed its painful.. I was wondering if I could have possibly cracked a rib or bruised it, there is no visible bruise on the outside..

hello,
i can understand your concern.
since your age is 54 ,there is a possibility of a fractured rib following the injury sustained.
rib fractures usually present with pain during breathing.
even if there is no fracture the pain would take ten days to subside.
i would suggest a chest xray ap view to know about the presence of any rib fractures.
rib fractures unless displaced heal very rapidly in three weeks time on its own.
the only treatment advised is bed rest and reducing the movements as much as possible.
an anti inflammatoryy drug like aceclofenac is also advised.
local application of diclofenac gel will also provide relief.
do not worry you would be fit and fine in two to three weeks time.
