Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My doctor prescribed me ptozac for anxiety. My anxiety is worse now than before. Even had to go to er. They tell me it s not the Prozac and I should continue taking it. My bloo pressure rose to 185/105 my chest hurt so I went to er. They said anxiety attack and the longer I keep using it the better I ll be. It s only been five days and I feel terrible. YYYY@YYYY
Prozac is very helpful for anxiety, I have used it very often for my patients. But also needs time for full effectiveness, at least 2 weeks.
Also, I suppose you have been checked to emergency to avoid any cardiac problem. Meantime you may discuss with your doctor to add any other drug such as Lorazepam to control anxiety till Prozac takes action.
I suggest you avoid stressful situations and have a good sleep, do everyday activities and everything with go right.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr Suzana Zharri, General & Family Physician
