Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 9 year old daughter has been complaining of chest pain-worse when she lays down. It s been off and on for a year now. It goes away for months then returns. This time it s been off and on for a week now and she cannot sleep at night because it hurts her when she lays down. She s had ultrasounds, X-rays, ECG tests and they all show nothing. She s very active in playing hockey and does handstands and cartwheels lots. Tylenol only takes the edge off and masks it temporarily. I don t know what to do
Because of the nature of the pain, worse in certain position and also because all the tests come out normal very likely your daughter is having a muscular pain.
To help with it paracetamol and ibuprofen can be tried and also a physiotherapist would help in the long run to give her specific exercises that will help with the muscles in her case.
I hope I have answered to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards, Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
