What Causes Chest Pain Similar To Heart Burn Accompanied By Dizziness?

I had a short but sudden episode of chest pain reminiscent of heartburn, which I have fairly frequently, but not so painful. It was accompanied by slight dizziness. It passed in short order, and seemed to improve by drinking water and taking antacids. What are your thoughts?

Hi,

Stomach problems like hyperacidity or Gerd can sometimes cause severe pain. Esophegeal spasm is one common reason for severe stomach pain.

So if you have no shortness of breath, and no sweating, no fainting then this looks unlikely to be from the heart. (Go to ER if any of them is there) If not then I would suggest you should take some antacids like gaviscon and acid suppression drugs like omeprazole. See your doctor if things didn't settle.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
