What Causes Chest Pain, Dizziness, Shortness Of Breath And Nausea In Elderly?
I am 57 years old in good health with the exception of having high blood pressure. I work out on an eleptical every other day. a week Ago I Was Doing 6 miles On my eleptical and had Chest pain dizzness shortness of breath and naseau. Took my BP and pulse BP had dropped to 90 over 50 and pulse was 42. As the night went on BP came back up but pulse did not. The next morning I began having more severe chest pains went to ER did cat scan exray echo cardio gram stress test and heart cath. Was diagnosed with bigeminy arithmia. The constant tightness in my chest has not gone away nor has my headache lightheadedness was also put on acid refux med just in case and was taken off of hctz med and given potassium supplements although was in normal range. I constantly want to sleep now which is definitely not like me and wonder if this bigeminy is the reason I feel this way and if I am just going to have to get used to feeling like this or is there something I can do to ease these symptoms
First of all I need to know exact reports of your Echo, stress test and cath.I presume that they should be normal, otherwise you would have been advised further intervention . I view your problem with 2 diff angle 1.chest pain which must be non cardiac in origin either acid reflux or muscular.over and above this you are anxious .so you should take bedtime lorazepam 1 mg at bedtime for few days.this will take care of your chest pain. 2.low heart rate and bigeminy .looking at your daily exercise schedule you may have athletic heart with high vagal tone which is infact good for heart.Bigeminy should be benign however you may get holter monitoring done to know its frequency and any need for electro physiological work up. My best wishes.
