What Causes Chest Pain And Excessive Burps While Taking Nexium?
I get chest pain every so often but it s associated with burping and excessive yawning afterward. I ve had a stress test done and it was fine. I am on high blood pressure medication and I also take Nexium daily for acid reflux. My doctor thinks it s associated with my acid reflux. Any ideas?

Hello,
It is due to severe acid reflux.
Continue nexium and better to take it in the early morning before break fast. You have to avoid spicy foods and restrict the use of alcohol.
Additional drugs like sucralfate may be required.
In severe cases an endoscopy may be required to rule out conditions like hiatus hernia.
