What Causes Chest Pain After Insertion Of Cardiac Stents?

I had 5 stents put in my arteries to my heart 13 days ago. This afternoon, my left side of my chest began to give me pain. It isn t constant. It isn t constant but has been like pressure for 5 hours now. Not unbearable. Just feels like there might be bruises there. There aren t. I also have a cough and am short of breath with any exertsion. I have waves of nausea but not too bad. Should this be expected after the stent procedure?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for your query on HCM

"As"per your clinical history is concerned your present symptoms are not related to your stents rather it is due to your respiratory tract only so tell your treating doctor to do a clinical examination and do a complete blood count with differential and take medication as per your report.

Do take following preventive measures like this for future -

1)Try to maintain a healthy weight with a heart-healthy diet repaired by your nutritional expert.

2)Try to avoid smoking

3)Do exercise regularly

4)Try to manage stress and control conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes. Do take medications for it regularly.

Hope that helps
