What Causes Chest Congestion Along With Breathing Difficulty?

Hi.... I have having a hard time coughing up phlegm, having a hard time breathing thru my nose, and sweating. I am taking generic allergy meds, rhinocort, my inhaler ( Ventolin) and also nasal flushes. I can breathe better if I lay down on my left side... Thoughts?

Hello,

There's been a lot of that going around. Don't vape if you have it; it could be fatal. But otherwise, without an exam, I can only give general information.

There is a viral respiratory infection going around that causes the whole respiratory system to feel like sandpaper.

It is sometimes helped with Vicks, with hot clear liquids, with steamy showers. If there is secondary infection causing gunk then it is a strong reason for antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
