What Causes Chest And Lung Pain With Coughing?

I started out with a cold about a week ago and then it went away, then was replaced with a light cough a couple of days ago. today it is a full blown cough and after I'm done coughing my chest lungs hurt. my neck right under my chin to my throat feels swollen. after I'm done coughing I feel week and my arms and especially my wrists ache really bad. It takes everything out of me after I cough. I took some robittusin about 3 hours ago to help, it hasnt helped that much, though I am coughing up some mucas when I cough now. it is a greyish color.

Hi thanks for contacting HCM.

According to your complaint it seems to be viral flu like infection....
It could be viral bronchitis or bacterial one...

Sputum examination helpful.
If it is infective by bacteria neutrophilia will more and lymphocytes in viral....

Avoid smoking....
Take broad spectrum antibiotic like levofloxacin....
Healthy and balanced diet ...
If cough not coming easily ambroxol plus salbutamol containing syrup can be taken...

I blocked nose also present then azelestin nasal spray given....

Take care.
If still worsening chest x ray done to look for consolidation...
