What Causes Buzzing Sound In The Ears On Closing The Eyes?
Hi, I am 16 years old. Recently I found that when I close my eyes, there would be a loud buzzing sound in both of my ears. I have been quite fatigued lately. Can you please give me some suggestions as to why this is and what I can do to reduce this problem.
There are several reasons for buzzing in the ear but here are 2 common ones.
First is related to a ear block due to ear wax accumulation. This can cause there to be reduced hearing, fullness of the ear, and some pain while swallowing. This can usually be treated very easily with ear drops and with using lozenges to reduce ear canal pressure.
Second, there may be a tumor known as a schwannoma. This can cause a compression of the Cranial Nerve 8 which can cause a ringing sensation.
To diagnose a schwannoma, an MRI would be needed. It would be good to see your doctor to get an ear examination done to confirm the cause. An audiogram may also be suggested to help confirm the cause.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
