What Causes Burning Sensation While Urinating?

Hey, I haven t had a sip of alcohol in 4-5 months and drank one beer tonight and nearing the end of the only time I urinated (as I was going to sleep) I started to feel this burning sensation. And a feeling like I need to pee even more but instead of urine I just get this burning sensation. I m not currently sexually active and have had zero sti s in my life time, but I have noticed this happen spuratically before (I d say once every 4-6 months) most of the time after consumption of any alcohol. I m just wondering if it s anything to be concerned about or if I can hydrate a little and go to bed in minor discomfort knowing it is a common thing.

Alcohol acts like a diuretic, so you may feel the need to urinate more frequently after having a few drinks. A burning sensation in the urine is commonly seen due to a urinary tract infection and also because yoy may have become a bit dehydrated.
I suggest that you have plenty of water and if the burning persists get a urine exination done.
