What Causes Burning Sensation In The Stomach And Urinary Retention?
I am a 60 year old woman and haven t had a period for 10 years. Today I feel like I need to urinate but when I go to the bathroom nothing comes out. I have a semi-burning feeling in my stomach and now I have a little blood coming out of my vagina, still no urine. Any ideas? email: YYYY@YYYY
Dear- thanks for using our service . This could be an urinary tract infection, which sometimes can manifest as urinary retention or urinary frequency but the burning sensation in the abdominal area that might feel like stomach is really coming from the bladder. You want to make sure if the blood is coming from the vagina or urethra. I recommend you to have a gynecologic exam to find out if it is coming from the vagina. If you don't void for more than 10 hrs, you should go to ER for evaluation and possible catheterization. I hope that my advise has been helpful Dr.Sara
