What Causes Burning Sensation In The Stomach Along With Nausea?

I have been having burning in my stomach and mild nausea. I only have one at the same time, but usually have one or the other most days. It started last September with lots of belching, bloating, and gnawing pain in my stomach. I went to a GI doctor and he did and endoscopy and said I have a really small hiatal hernia and a small gastric polyp. He did not find anything else. I had an abdominal ct scan with contrast that found nothing other than my pancreatic tail was 3cm, but they said that was still in the normal range. The doctor put me on zantac 150 twice a day. After about a week I got better. Then I started having what I thought was a knot in my lower throat. It would not go away, and felt like when you wear a tie too tight that constricts your neck. I had barium swallow that came back negative. I started eating healthier at this point. No soda, tea, and no fried food. My throat problem went away, I have little to no bloating and belching now. I still have a gnawing pain in my stomach or nausea everyday. Eating seems to help it, but not for very long. Any help or advice would be appreciated. My GI doctor said he thinks it is stress, but I am under very little stress. I exercise 3-4 times a week, have good blood pressure, live a very active lifestyle. I am only about 185 pounds which is what I have always weighed.. I don t drink, use drugs, or tobacco.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It's due to gastritis or acidity.
You can take tablet Pantoprazole after consultation.
Avoid hot and spicy foods.
Drink lot of fluids.
Avoid heavy meal and sleep immediately after the food.
If not getting relief, kindly do Upper GI endoscopy after consultation with gastroenterologist.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale,
