What Causes Burning Sensation In The Mouth And Tongue?
Hi, my the lining of my mouth and my tongue feel like they have a thermal burn but I have not eaten or drunk anything that has caused a burn. I have had this symptoms for 5 days now and has not got any better. I also feel unwell in general but not unwell enough to stop my every day actives , there are no visible sores just rash like appearance
It is inflammation inside mouth that can be due to a number of causes but common causes that can cause such symptoms can be allergy to any foods, eating plenty of sour and spicy foods, vitamin B12 or Iron deficiency,if you have a dry mouth then it can also be a cause.. Start taking a Vitamin B complex daily for atleast a period of 15 days, gargle with mouthwash that contains Lidocaine/Lignocaine as an ingredient. You should also soothe the tongue by doing warm saline rinses.. Sucking ice and holding water in mouth can also be done as it will help in reducing heat and relieving inflammation and pain.. Take soft and cooled foods and avoid all forms of hot, spicy and other irritant foods.. If it does not seems better in a week then consult a Dentist so that he can check for infections like Oral Thrush..
Hope you get well soon..
Regards.
