What Causes Burning Sensation In The Abdomen With Vomiting And Diarrhea?

Hello, my husband has constant burning sensation in his stomach. He is constantly vomiting and or has diarrhea. The other day he had blood in his stool. We ve been to the ER 3 times already and they don t find anything. He doesn t have insurance and therefore has not had an endoscopy. I am not sure what it can be.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your husband's problems. It looks as if your husband is having acute gastroenteritis, which is mostly viral and settles by itself. However, ensure that hydration status is maintained by drinking plenty of fluids. If symptoms still persist like vomiting, dizziness, fever or blood in stools, then you need to visit ER for IV fluids and antibiotics. However, any medicine should only be taken after consultation with your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammad Zahir Shah,
