What Causes Burning Sensation In Stomach Radiating Towards Chest And Back?
Why is my stomach burning every time I get hungry? I m being forced to eat more than I would like to because I ve been getting hungry so often and many times it is accompanied with slight burning. That only scares me because less than a week ago (the first time it happened) it got so bad while I was out it spread to my chest and back and caused me to cry out loud and become almost immobile.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Hunger pain is usual for peptic ulcer disease. This can radiate towards chest and back also. Continuous gastritis can give this. In such case for my patients i would recommend taking proton pump inhibitors like rabeprazole for 4 weeks. I also advise taking sucralfate syrup before meals to give protective covering for ulcers and to help easy healing. Have light meals in short intervals. Avoid spicy, fatty, greasy and junk foods. Carbonated drinks, alcohol , smoking and excess coffee should be avoided also. If there is no improvement then fibrogastroduodenoscopy should be done to find out exact problem. A consultation with a gastroenterologist is well appreciated also.. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
