What Causes Burning Sensation In Knee Post Total Knee Replacement?
Today i started having burning in my knee where I had total knee replacement 3 months ago. Everything was great until today when this terrible pain started and returns approx. every 60 seconds. We are in Palm Springs and have been doing lots of pool exercises and knee has been doing great until this afternoon. Had ice on it earlier but it is cool to touch now. I noticed a red bite this morning just below my knee - looks like a spider bite, not mosquito and is itchy
Post knee replacement burning could be due to various reasons. Burning knee pain may also be caused by tendonitis, which occurs when the patellar tendon (located in the front of the knee) becomes inflamed.
If the burning sensation is on the sides of the knee, it is likely Iliotibial Band Syndrome. It could be due to other reasons too.
It could be due to insect bite also which would be causing confusion. If the symptoms persist , you may consult yoursurgeon who did the surgery.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Fatima Clinic
