What Causes Burning Sensation And Blisters On Face After Using RetinA?
I have recently broken out in an ugly rash on the left side of my face. Thought it was an reaction to a new brand of RetinA but my pharmacist looked at it today and said no. I used the cream on my entire face and have only burning, blisters and [now] scabs on one side of my face. Wondering if it might be shingles or impetigo?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.
As per your complain burning, blisters and cab on face only on one side can be due to allergic reaction to the new retinoid based cream that you used but in case if it is not considered to be the cause other causes can be Impetigo that is a bacterial infection or can be Eczema or Shingles in case if it follows a particular nerve route and can be confirmed only after a thorough clinical evaluation by a dermatologist and can also advise investigations depending upon the suspected cause.. In case if it is bacterial infection oral and topical antibiotics can be advised.. In case if it is viral infection then oral antiviral medicines like Acyclovir and topical medication like Valacyclovir can be advised.. In case of eczematous rash and bumps steroids can relieve..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
