What Causes Bumps Near The Nose Peircing?

Hey I had my nose pierced and then knocked it in my sleep and then pushed the nose pin back in. I then got a infection- quite large white puss filled pimple. I used warm salt water soaks and no improvement and therefore tried tea tree oil. The bump would go down but not completely go. I removed the piercing for 4 months and the bump still didn t go. I had a course of antibiotics and the bump reduced in size but it still didn t completely go. I then got my nose repierced to hide the bump but have now ended up with another bump near the piercing! Have been applying fucidin H. Still not going! Please help!!!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history, you are having nose piercing site infection. My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an NSAID (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) like Ibuprofen for 5-7 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like Levofloxacin, Cefadroxil, and Azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
