What Causes Bump On Head After Undergoing A Surgery?

I got hit in the head with a large tree branch from a high tree. I got a concussion, stitches, and it opened an artery. I got the stitches out a week ago, but still have a significant bump. I have been told that it might be a calcium deposit. Does it sound like it?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Bump formed after head injury is unlikely to be due to calcium deposit. The bump can be due to hematoma formation. Hematoma usually settles down after few days. I suggest you to take hot fomentation and pain killers if accompanied by pain.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
