What Causes Bump On Back Of Leg Despite Having Antibiotics For Cellulitis?
I recently had cellulitis on the back of my left leg. Took a little over 10 days of antibiotics. I was on cephalexin. It had all the characteristics of cellulits. It is no longer red, inflamed, nor does it hurt when I walk or bend down. There is however a bump under the skin the size of a quarter. It doesn t hurt when pressing on it. I have been off the medicine for close to a week. I am still using neosporin or some type of cream to help keep it soft and refrain from further infection. Is there anything else I can do to be rid of the bump or is it something I may have for awhile??
welcome to healthcaremagic.com I am Dr atishay Bukharia and I would be answering your question.. the main reason behind formation of bump on the cellulitis is the formation of the granulomas.. these are the hypersensitivity reaction towards the antigen which may be of bacterial or human origin. in most cases they subside by their own..
hope it helps
