What Causes Bruising And Blotchy Skin On Arms Of A Diabetic?

My husband Type 1 diabetic, Lantus injection once daily of insulin. His forearms look bruised (not where we give him his shot) but then disappears over several days. Skin looks blotched sometimes the size of a quarter. What causes this? His skin seems to be too thin causing him to bleed if touched. He is 64 yrs old and weighs 135 lbs., 5 10 tall.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, such symptom could be due to diabetes and in my opinion better to get done the HbA1c this would show the pathological changes, if the diabetes is uncontrolled then it need to be controlled on tight rule basis, hope this information helps, take care.
