Hello,

IBS is a disorder in which, by definition, the motility of normally functioning bowel is upset easily. A condition in which the bowel doesn't work properly (not IBS) often causes a lack of vitamin K.

This causes the liver to be unable to produce enough clotting protein, producing easily bruisability. I cannot say if you have this or why but the test for it is to see if the blood can clot in a laboratory test.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Matt Wachsman
